I'm doing this to educate those that haven't been idagnosed, people that have never heard of it, and anyone that I can tell. That's part of the reason.
After more than 11 years with this disease. After all of my trials, continued searching for relief, if not a cure, it's finally time for me to stop hoping someone else will speak up and do something. It's time I did.
So I'm putting aside my natural shyness. Ignoring the voice yelling at me to shut up and not tell the world this about myself. Blocking out the whispering pleas to not broadcast this very private pain of mine. And I'm talking.
I'm not here to replace the fantastic organizations and support groups that are out there (which you can find in the links section). They're doing great work. I've found a lot of information on them. They work to get us noticed. To make us not so silent. I just want to add to that.
I want to put a more personal face to the disease that many can't talk about themselves.
I hope to be an easy place to come to. I hope to help one other person that feels alone out there. I hope to share the information that I've spent years searching for, in an easy to find manner. There's certainly a lot of it. I hope to help ease the pain of learning about HS, as we certainly have enough to deal with.
In the end I truly hope to push for research for a cure.

I have been an HS sufferer for 10 years, I was 18 when i was diagnosed with the condition, it started with a lump under my arm which them developed into 10-20 lesions in the arm pit in both arms. I was given all the main drugs and packed and drained which did nothing. I was given accutane and after 4 years it did clear and close. but it took years for me to move my arms and lift things as well as go out and see people. After 3 months of remission it started in my groin, and for the last 6 years i have had it in the groin. It has become so deep rooted, that surgery was attempted this year and worked on some area, but the found out i had several cavitys that where feeding the others. I have since then been diagnosed with another condition on top of the HS its a lypmh problem and it hurts, causes a constant weep of water blisters. But only has my doctor said i should get more surgery and have a large are removed of my groin leaving me with 50% feeling. I have to look on the bright side, i will be free from this. However to kill the hs i was asked about the infusion if it something i would consider. I am on a course of accutane and is drying everything up, i have decided not to bear kids and to have my breasts reduced or removed if it starts there again. I wanted to say i know what you are going threw and its annoying that no one understands and listens that this is something we cant get rid of it. It is with us and never leaves and causes us dispair. I used to wish it cancer or something that at least i would know, what the future held, either you cured or died. But like you family and really supportive friends have helped.

Dr. Matzinger's theory - there are 2 signals for T cell full Activation:
1.) first an antigen -We cannot use gluten, it causes HS, instead a peptide similar to gluten - this primes or makes ready theT cell. But without the 2nd signal the T cell remains in anergy( no activity).
2.) the Second signal - is CD80 or CD86 - either one is enough to make the Tcell go thru the changes that makes it a fully activated cell.
People produce CD80/CD86 but in autoimmune patients it is not enough
to fix HS.
However, there is a safe way of inducing the blood to produce CD80/86 factor & that is through Herbs.
